Services

SOLVE YOUR IT. DISPOSAL PROBLEMS AT A PROFIT

Excel Data Systems.com can help you dispose of your surplus IT. equipment. Our aim is to realise the maximum benefit to yourselves and still operate within the forthcoming WEEE Directive. The main benefits arise from our refurbishment facility, which enables us to purchase most VDU whether working, or not.

Monitors

Excel Data Systems specialise in refurbishing and selling monitors as you and your customers upgrade to bigger and flatter screens. Computer monitors are difficult to recycle and hence a price is normally charged for their disposal. As Excel Data Systems have a good market for second user monitors, We can buy your monitors Adding value with our professional rebuild and test regime that ensures the unit is electronically perfect, cosmetically acceptable and safe to operate.

Excel Data Systems test and repair all monitors for primary colours, focus, purity, convergence and safety which is followed by a minimum of 2 hours "soak" test to ensure the monitor performs satisfactorily. The next stage is to check the monitor for its cosmetic appearance, which will determine the grade and hence price, with three bands of price available from A (perfect and complete) to C (scratch or discoloured or less stand). Monitors are sold with a one-month return and replace policy.

Excel Data Systems always has a huge stock of monitors of all sizes available for orders from 1 to 1000 and to keep this stock updated we are always looking for monitors that may be suitable for refurbishment.

Base Units

As computer chips march through the KHz, MHz and GHz barriers, drives store Gigabytes and base units have more RAM than a hard drive of ten years ago there are still users whose programs don't require state of the art processors and a good second user unit will meet their needs.

Excel Data will take base units, with or without monitors, keyboards and mouse, in lots of 10 to 1000s.

However, before the units can be passed onto second users the suppliers need to decide whether the data on the drives needs to be wiped, most of our suppliers do wipe their hard drives to ensure that their data remains secure but Excel can perform this as a service.

Computer base units are sold as seen with a one month return and replace policy for the hardware (software is not normally provided).

Laptops

There is always a good market for laptops and Excel Data are constantly looking out for batches of laptops with good specifications to add to their current stock.

Boards, chips and ancillary equipment

Although not one of the core businesses of Excel Data we are often in the market for ancillary equipment to upgrade or repair our existing equipment, or to meet special customer requirements.

This policy has led us making many good contacts for sourcing and providing upgrades and repair components.

Collection and delivery

Excel Data will collect and deliver, using their own transport where practicable, within the UK and are equipped to receive and provide deliveries worldwide from single packages to multi-container loads.

Quality, Environmental and Safety Policy

Environmental statement

The main principals of environmental management are:

Reduce
Reuse
Recycle

Reduce and reuse go together in our computer industry. By prolonging the lives of the equipment by reuse we are reducing the immense amounts of energy required to convert raw materials into the metals, glass and plastics that make up individual components and the materials themselves required to make a new unit.

But in our business we do occasionally receive CRTs and base units that are beyond economic repair. In these circumstances Excel Data Systems can confirm that these are sent for recycling to a company licensed by the Environment Agency.

This company specializes in the dismantling, processing and granulation of computer equipment. Although there is a significant cost to recycling through this route Excel Data believe that it is worthwhile to ensure that the equipment is not sent to landfill and that Excel Data conform to the requirements of the forthcoming WEEE Directive. The recycling company provide Excel Data with a "Certificate of Recycling" for the equipment giving the traceability required for ISO 14001 conformance.

WEEE-DIRECTIVE and Excel Data In order to offer a complete service to our customers we can accept all aspects of electronic and computer equipment process them through our recycling and refurbishment procedure in order to maximise monetary values. The remaining material is then passed on to a fully licensed environmentally secure recycling company to ensure full compliance with the forthcoming WEEE-DIRECTIVE

Certificates of recycling are available on request to demonstrate our commitment, and hence your commitment, to reuse and recycle your computers. Should you have any questions regarding our Environmental Policy please do not hesitate to contact us.
